Dandy Lion and the Mysterious Glowing Light

"If you don't stop singing that song," the Breezie mother said through clenched teeth, "I will not give you dessert for a month."

The little Breezie tot glanced up at his mother, weighing his options, and wisely shut his trap. The Dandy Lion song had over a hundred verses, and he had been on verse #41 when his mother had finally forced him to stop.

Dandy Lion, the one who the song was written about, passed by the pair with a small grin. Of course, they didn't know it was him; Dandy was currently in the guise of his mild-mannered alter-ego, Dandelion the weed-picker Breezie.

When he wasn't fighting crime in Breezie Blossom, Dandelion passed his time in his rose-blossom house, pressing flowers and making rose-petal jam. He was a simple pony with simple hobbies... or so it would seem. But when the Wind Chimes of Justice rang, Dandelion shed his mantle of normalcy and lept into action, fighting any threat that might enter Breezie Blossom. However, there wasn't a large amount of danger in Breezie Blossom to begin with, and many of his 'epic battles' were with over-aggressive bumblebees. Still, he was a hero-- a superhero, some would say! And he was glad to help, whether as Dandy Lion or Dandelion.

Suddenly, Dandelion paused mid-step; the Wind Chimes of Justice were ringing! With a mighty bound, Dandy Lion lept into the air, buzzing around flowers as he pulled on his superhero costume (in classy shades of forest green and light green) when he was out of sight! Once costumed, he flew as fast as a speeding ladybug over to the center of Breezie Blossom, where the Wind Chimes of Justice hung.

"You rang?" He said with a dashing smile, resting one hoof on his hip as he landed.

"Dandy Lion, Dandy Lion! You must help us!" ZipZee said in a panic, her normally-curled mane knotted up in a frazzled mess. "There's a strange glowing light at the edge of Breezie Blossom!"

"Fear not, ZipZee!" Dandy Lion said bravely, leaping into the air as his cape fluttered behind him. "I will banish the strange glowing light!" He called, and zoomed over towards the edge of Breezie Blossom, accompanied by the applause of the grateful townsfolk.

He landed lightly on an overhanging lily, looking over the field until he sighted the strange, red light. It seemed to be about the size of a Breezie, and was currently zooming in circles on the grass, seemingly randomly. With a quick kick-off, Dandy Lion buzzed over to the light, pausing mid-air when he saw the light stop moving. "Strange light!" He called boldly, his wings buzzing behind him. "Halt your harassment of my homeland!"

The light quivered for a moment in place, then suddenly zoomed across the field. With a small whuff, Dandy followed it, zooming across the lawn as the light began to zigzag. "I said halt!" Dandy Lion yelled, although the light ignored him. As the light whirled around the field seemingly effortlessly, Dandy Lion followed it as best he could, and on many occasions he came within a hair's breadth of catching it. Still, it remained always out of reach, and Dandy Lion eventually fell to the grass, panting with exhaustion.

"Oh no, I hope he's not hurt!" Came a sudden, booming voice, and two gigantic creatures lumbered into the clearing. Dandy Lion's eyes widened, but he was too exhausted to crawl away; he could only lie limply as the light dissapeared, and the giants approached him.

"Oh Pinkie, I think he's just tired!" The second giant grumbled sulkily, clearly chastized.

"I told you that bringing the laser pointer to Breezie Blossom was a bad idea!" Growled the first giant, moving away from the field. "You scared him! C'mon, let's go home!"

"Okay, okay!" The second giant agreed, turning abruptly and galloping away from the field.

Dandy Lion laid in silence for a moment, eyes wide and his chest heaving as he slowly got his breath back. He couldn't quite figure out what had happened, but slowly, he got to his hooves and fluttered back to the center of Breezie Blossom. Whatever that glowing light was, there was no way he would tell them what he just saw. It was just too fantastic to be believed!
